Remarks: The year of publication of the first edition could not be ascertained. Meulenbeld only knows the second edition.
ci follows the eastern recension.
The editor does not mention in his introduction (nivedana, p. 1) to the second edition whether he used any mss. for his edition. In the critical notes, the abbreviation ca stands for variants of the ĀD (no. 7 = Mh) up to ci 4.26, ga for variants of the JKT (no. 1 = Mc).
In the introduction (nivedana, p. 1) to the third edition, the editor mentions the editions and mss. available to him:

  1. (ca) CS with ĀD published by himself in the Nirnayasagar Press (= no. 30);
  2. (ga) CS with JKT (ind to si) edited by Narendranath Sengupta & Kaviraja Shree Balaichandra Sengupta with ĀD (= no. 25) (= C8E);
  3. (yo) CS with Carakopaskāra (ci 13 to the end; = no. 20) (= C7E).

The following three mss. utilized in the edition are recorded with the single siglum (ha):

  1. A ms. of CS sū – ka from the collection of Vaidya Raṇachoḍalāl Motilāl Bodhā, Ahmedabad;
  2. A complete ms. of the CS, D.A.V. College (most probably mss. no. 2314 and 2315 = Chd);
  3. A ms. of CS ci to si from the collection of Rāmaśaṅkar Śarmā, Vārāṇasī.

In the third edition which, according to the editor’s introduction, appeared after the first edition of no. 30, the text follows Gangadhara’s interpretation of vi 8, in contrast to the second edition. ci is arranged according to the eastern recension, as in the second edition.
