FWF Project No. 24388: Metaphysics and Epistemology of the Nyaya Tradition III

Project History

On June 29, 2004, a research project on classical Nyāya focusing on the critical edition of the Nyāyabhāṣya was granted by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) for a duration of two years under the title Metaphysics and Epistemology of the Nyāya Tradition – Sources, History, Ideas: A Critical Edition of the Nyāyabhāṣya (project director: Karin Preisendanz; project start: August 2004). After an extension until the end of September 2006, it was followed in November 2006 by a three-year project, Metaphysics and Epistemology of the Nyāya Tradition II (granted on October 2, 2006), which has been extended until August 31, 2011.
