The foreword is followed by a sequence of illustrations depicting the origin of Ayurveda and personifications of different kinds of fever, as well as illustrations of some medical instruments and anatomical representations which display modern western influence. The set of pictures is very similar to that found in no. 17 (cf. also no. 12).
