The foreword is followed by a sequence of illustrations depicting the origin of Ayurveda and personifications of different kinds of fever, as well as illustrations of some medical instru­ments and anatomical representations which display modern western influence. The set of pictures is very similar to that found in no. 17 (cf. also no. 12).
